Dragged Across Concrete is a gritty neo-noir that emphasizes traditional masculine archetypes and genre clichés over diverse representation. The story centers on two policemen navigating a criminal underworld, reinforcing traditional gender and racial hierarchies. Despite a lack of diversity in identity-based categories, the film delves into a cultural critique of institutional authority. It presents a world where law enforcement fails and moral relativism is a practical necessity. Ultimately, the film adheres to conventional crime procedural norms rather than challenging or disrupting social structures.
