New Showbiz Analysis

Decommissioned adheres closely to the conventions of the action-thriller genre. The narrative emphasizes traditional structures, focusing on masculine ability to act and the preservation of established political institutions rather than challenging them. The film lacks diverse casting or multi-layered themes, focusing instead on institutional loyalty and the protection of the state, which reinforces existing power hierarchies. Without evidence of diverse casting or multi-layered themes, the film remains a standard genre piece that avoids deconstructing Western institutions or exploring varied demographic identities.
