Un año en la luna is an intimate psychological drama that dismantles traditional social structures. By highlighting a non-traditional household and intricate personal relationships, it avoids reinforcing conventional social hierarchies. However, the film lacks significant markers of diversity. The narrative centers on a homogeneous group, offering limited representation of race, ethnicity, or disability. Ultimately, the film prioritizes emotional depth and unconventional domesticity over broader social representation.
