LGBTQ+ Representation
The film centers its entire plot on lesbian relationships and queer intimacy. This approach provides high agency to its protagonists while challenging heteronormative romantic expectations.
Gender Representation
Female-driven dynamics disrupt traditional hierarchies by inverting power structures. The narrative explores a nuanced intersection of predatory strength and emotional vulnerability, subverting typical masculine leadership models.
Racial & Ethnic Diversity
The cast reflects a niche, queer-centric focus within a contemporary Montreal setting. While avoiding whitewashing, the film does not explicitly prioritize a multi-ethnic majority cast.
Religious & Cultural Diversity
The story challenges traditional Western sanctity-of-life doctrines through a lens of moral relativism. It prioritizes individual agency and subjective truth over established societal or biological laws.

AI Analysis
Ariane Louis-Seize delivers an intentional work that deconstructs traditional social and romantic structures. By utilizing queer theory, the film moves away from mainstream commercial tropes to explore non-normative experiences. The narrative succeeds by centering marginalized identities and replacing traditional moral frameworks with a complex exploration of intimacy. It effectively uses the supernatural genre to examine human (and post-human) existence. While the film excels in queer and cultural subversion, it remains focused on specific demographic groupings. This niche focus limits its broader racial and ethnic breadth.
