AI Analysis

In Search of Gregory functions as a character-driven romance rather than a tool for social reconfiguration. The film's strength lies in its subversion of 1960s gender hierarchies by centering female agency through Catherine Morelli's intense, proactive pursuit of romance. However, the film remains rooted in a traditional narrative structure. It lacks intersectional depth, diverse casting, and systemic critique, resulting in a narrow cultural scope that adheres to conventional mid-century cinematic norms.
