Women primarily occupy roles as supporting law enforcement or victims of trafficking. The narrative remains centered on a male protagonist and masculine-coded pursuits of justice.

Racial & Ethnic Diversity

Fair

The cast reflects contemporary Swedish urban demographics, particularly within the criminal underworld. However, characters of color lack high agency to disrupt established social orders.

Religious & Cultural Diversity

Limited

The story reinforces the legitimacy of state institutions as the primary force for order. It operates within a clear distinction between legal authority and criminal behavior.

  • The casting effectively incorporates diverse backgrounds within the depiction of the criminal underworld and trafficking victims.

Areas for Improvement

  • The film maintains conventional heteronormative family structures without exploring diverse domestic identities.

AI Analysis

Johan Falk: The End is a conventional crime thriller that prioritizes genre tropes and procedural realism. While it successfully reflects the ethnic diversity of modern Sweden through its casting, it maintains traditional hierarchies regarding gender and institutional authority. The film functions as a standard law enforcement procedural. It does not seek to challenge or deconstruct Western social norms, focusing instead on the personal and professional stakes of law enforcement within a traditional moral framework.
