New Showbiz Analysis

The Last Wager is a character study that prioritizes sociopolitical critique over demographic variety. It excels in offering a sophisticated look at systemic power and ideological friction, particularly through its protagonist's rejection of traditional justice. However, the film lacks breadth in its representation of identity, remaining focused on a localized, homogeneous Greek context and offering limited engagement with LGBTQ+, racial, or multi-ethnic perspectives.
