Vincent is a character-focused European dramedy that emphasizes psychological realism and family conflict. The film mainly explores adolescent quirks and the impact of loss on a young person's growth. The narrative follows typical cinematic conventions without addressing systemic power structures. While it challenges the perfect family myth by showing family tension, it doesn't intentionally represent diverse identities. Overall, the film centers on personal coping strategies and ecological worries. It remains a local drama without actively challenging identity politics or societal hierarchies.

Set in Belgium and France, the cast is mostly made up of people from similar backgrounds. The production doesn't make a conscious effort to include a wider range of ethnicities.
The film offers a mild critique of the idealized nuclear family through its focus on ecological concerns. It questions the perfect family but doesn't go further to criticize Western institutions.
