New Showbiz Analysis

Carancho is a gritty social realist drama that excels in its critique of institutional corruption. It effectively breaks down power dynamics by illustrating how predatory capitalism undermines professional ethics. The film's strength lies in its refusal to provide simple moral solutions. However, the film's focus on class often overshadows specific identity markers. While it presents a complex urban environment, it lacks meaningful representation for LGBTQ+ identities and provides limited ability to act to characters with disabilities.
