Static is a character-driven film that prioritizes the perspective of outsiders over mainstream narratives. It effectively challenges institutional authority, especially through its critique of religious manufacturing and traditional spiritual beliefs. The film excels in its thematic exploration of secularism and the questioning of faith. By focusing on a technological misfit, the story disrupts the stability of Western spiritual traditions. However, the film lacks deeper exploration of LGBTQ+ identities or disability. It primarily centers on the protagonist's unique journey and his immediate social circle.
