Out of Season is a naturalistic character study that focuses on the dynamics of reconnecting former lovers, Mathieu and Alice, after fifteen years apart. The film prioritizes the quiet rhythms of human connection over broader social commentary. While it avoids heavy-handed clichés, it does not actively challenge social hierarchies or present diverse perspectives.
