Category Breakdown
LGBTQ+ Representation
The story centers on heteronormative romantic pursuits and resolving past dating entanglements. It lacks explicit non-cisnormative identities or narratives that actively critique traditional heteronormativity.
Gender Representation
The film prioritizes female interiority and agency, centering on a woman's journey toward self-actualization. The protagonist drives the plot through her own decisions rather than acting as a passive romantic prize.
Racial & Ethnic Diversity
A postmodern, color-blind casting approach deconstructs the white-centric origins of the source material. This diverse ensemble challenges the Anglo-Saxon visual hegemony often found in Victorian-inspired narratives.
Religious & Cultural Diversity
The narrative critiques modern social behaviors like digital isolation and the 'ghosting' phenomenon. It maintains an anti-capitalist undercurrent by examining greed and social stratification.
Disability Representation
There is no significant evidence of characters with visible or invisible disabilities driving the plot. The focus remains strictly on psychological and emotional growth.

AI Analysis
Ghosts of Christmas Past succeeds as a modern reconfiguration of a classic archetype by emphasizing female agency and intentional, diverse casting. By decoupling the story from its Eurocentric literary roots, the film creates a more accessible and contemporary experience. However, the film remains somewhat tethered to traditional romantic structures. The lack of explicit LGBTQ+ representation and the absence of disability representation prevent a higher diversity score. Ultimately, the production excels at subverting traditional casting norms and exploring modern interpersonal dynamics, even while staying within conventional romantic frameworks.
