Hit Lady stands out for its subversion of gender stereotypes, placing a woman in a position of lethal professional power. The protagonist's role as a contract killer challenges the era's standard thriller clichés. However, the film remains limited by a homogeneous demographic profile. The narrative lacks racial and ethnic diversity, focusing instead on a narrow socio-economic landscape typical of mid-70s regional productions. While it lacks LGBTQ+ representation, the film gains progressive points through its thematic critique of class and wealth. It uses its protagonist to explore the tension between systemic violence and individual desire.
