Minimal

The film adheres to traditional heteronormative structures. There is no visible presence of non-cisnormative identities or narratives that critique these norms.

Gender Representation

Fair

Female characters like Rebecca Chambers demonstrate significant intellectual agency and professional competence. Their presence in leadership and scientific roles prevents a purely patriarchal narrative.

Racial & Ethnic Diversity

Fair

The inclusion of international operatives like Liu Xue provides a more globalized security landscape. However, the cast stops short of a non-Western majority.

Religious & Cultural Diversity

Fair

The story critiques corporate negligence through the Umbrella Corporation. Yet, it remains anchored in traditional Western paramilitary frameworks to restore order.

Disability Representation

Limited

Disability is framed through biological mutation and the loss of bodily autonomy. These depictions serve as horror plot devices rather than nuanced portrayals of lived experience.

  • The narrative offers a meaningful critique of corporate negligence and institutional power.

Areas for Improvement

AI Analysis

Resident Evil: Vendetta functions as a conventional global action film. It finds its progressive edge through an internationalized cast and a critique of corporate hegemony. While the film avoids harmful racial stereotypes and empowers its female characters, it remains tethered to hero-centric tropes. The narrative lacks the intersectional complexity needed for a higher score. Ultimately, the film prioritizes genre-driven tension and biological horror over systemic deconstruction or diverse identity representation.
