Rosa von Praunheim uses a queer perspective to explore the fragility of human bonds and the disruption of domestic stability. The film excels in prioritizing identity-focused storytelling over typical crime genre conventions. While the film offers a nuanced look at non-traditional identities and moralities, it lacks significant racial diversity. The narrative primarily focuses on a homogeneous European demographic. Overall, the film’s strength lies in its engagement with complex, non-traditional themes, enhancing the drama through its detailed portrayal of queer domesticity.
