  • Offers a skeptical critique of materialist success and the sanctity of the traditional nuclear family.

  • Provides no evidence of characters with physical or neurodivergent disabilities.

AI Analysis

Therapy functions primarily as a regional character study centered on domestic instability. While it offers a psychological critique of the traditional nuclear family, it lacks significant demographic breadth. The film's strength lies in its subversion of domestic hierarchies. By using a therapist to destabilize a marriage, it moves away from idealized portrayals of marital stability. However, the film remains limited by its homogeneity. The focus on a specific, localized Scandinavian social environment results in a lack of racial, ethnic, and LGBTQ+ representation.
