Salesman Roy Knable spends all his free time watching television, to the exasperation of his wife, Helen. One day, TV salesman Spike convinces Roy to buy a satellite dish offering 666 channels. The new addition to Roy's home entertainment system sucks him and Helen into Hellvision, a realm run by Spike, who is an emissary of Satan. For 24 hours, the couple must survive devilish parodies of TV programs if they want to return to reality alive.

Category Breakdown
LGBTQ+ Representation
The film is built on a strictly heteronormative framework. It lacks any visible presence of non-cisnormative identities or critiques of heteronormativity.
Gender Representation
The story centers on a middle-class nuclear couple. While Helen shows significant agency during the survival plot, the film relies on traditional gender archetypes.
Racial & Ethnic Diversity
The cast and suburban setting reflect a largely homogeneous white demographic. The narrative does not prioritize non-white or intersectional perspectives.
Religious & Cultural Diversity
The film offers a sharp critique of Western consumerism and media hegemony. It portrays the television system as an oppressive, surrealist landscape.
Disability Representation
There is no meaningful portrayal of neurodivergence or physical disability. Characters in the parodies function primarily as comedic archetypes.

AI Analysis
Stay Tuned functions as a postmodern satire that prioritizes a critique of media hyperreality over identity-based representation. The film's strength lies in its systemic deconstruction of how mass media and capitalist consumption shape human reality. However, the narrative remains anchored in a traditional demographic framework. It lacks the intersectional depth and diverse casting necessary to challenge the status quo, focusing instead on a homogeneous middle-class experience. Ultimately, the film is more interested in attacking the 'spectacle' of Western entertainment than in exploring diverse lived experiences or subverting social hierarchies.
