New Showbiz Analysis

The film explores the theme of human trafficking and systemic exploitation set in the 1978 Milanese underworld. While the subject matter touches on the commodification of people, the narrative is heavily centered on the male protagonist's personal journey and redemption. The focus on a male protagonist's redemption may reinforce traditional gender hierarchies rather than challenge them. The role of female characters remains ambiguous, potentially serving as mere catalysts for the lead's development. Overall, the film lacks clear characters who reflect more than one aspect of diversity or a deliberate disruption of social hierarchies. It functions primarily as a character-driven thriller within a specific historical crime milieu.
