AI Analysis

Student Exchange is a conventional 1980s coming-of-age comedy that prioritizes social assimilation and romantic tropes. The film follows a dual-protagonist structure where the characters seek popularity through a social scheme. While the inclusion of French and Italian exchange students adds a layer of international variety, the perspective remains Western-centric. The characters function more as plot devices for social maneuvering than as complex cultural figures. Ultimately, the film maintains the status quo of its era. It lacks the deconstruction of systemic hierarchies or the inclusion of marginalized identities necessary for a higher diversity score.
